In guitar music lessons, you’re going to come across a lot of difficult chords. So do you know what you should do? Don’t learn them!

OK, that’s not exactly what I meant, but there are plenty of chords that you should already be familiar with that you can tweak in order to reach your desired formations. Eventually playing the difficult ones will be easier then.

The bad thing about difficult chord formations is that you have to try too hard to execute them and it trips you up. You get your fingers all tangled up and you’re not focusing on playing in time, tempo, or with the correct rhythm.

Remember in your guitar music lessons that your focus is rhythm and tempo to begin. That’s why it’s so important to start with chords that are relatively easy to execute. It’ll help to keep your mind off the insignificant things in the beginning. Read the rest of this entry »
